Message	a good polishing will do wonders to a journal that would "appear" damaged. Have the journals measured and cleaned..I'd have the crank mag checked as well just to cover your bases. Then have it micro polished. Once thats done and everything checks out you should be good to go. Reconditioned cranks are ok as well just so long as they have dimensions of the standard journal sizes and are properly heat treated again to maintain case harden depth and durability.
